Amazon is working on a solution for anyone who’s missed a package delivery because they weren’t at home. The e-commerce giant is launching a pilot program in Munich, Germany next month. Amazon will team up with Audi and DHL to deliver straight to the trunk of an owner’s car.
For the test, it will only work with Audis. The owner gives the car’s location, and a delivery driver gets a code to access the trunk, using keyless entry. Then, the recipient can pick up the package at their own convenience.
Home Depot is the first major retailer to start removing a chemical from vinyl flooring that’s considered dangerous to children. There are no laws or rules prohibiting the group of chemicals known as phtalates from the flooring, but the Consumer Product Safety Commission does limit phthalates to less than 1 percent in toys and kid’s products.
A recent study found 38 of 65 vinyl tiles have phthalates. A representative said when children play on the floors, they’re exposed to just as much of the chemicals as if it’s in their toys. Home Depot says the transition will be complete by the end of the year.
