A Pakistani government official said a bomb struck a passenger train in the country's southwest, killing at least five people.
The official said the remote-control bomb was planted on the railroad tracks near the town of Dera Murad Jamali in the district of Naseerabad in Baluchistan province.
The town is roughly 300 kilometres east of the provincial capital, Quetta.
The bomb derailed four railcars.
Local television footage showed inspectors at the site of the blast, assessing the damage to the train.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
The province has been affected by a low-level insurgency by separatist groups, who want more shares in the region's natural resources.
Al-Qaida-linked Sunni militant groups also operate there.
