NORFOLK (AP) -- Southwest Airlines Co. plans to drop nonstop flights from Norfolk to Jacksonville, Fla., and Nashville, Tenn., in 2014.
Norfolk International Airport market development director Charles Braden tells The Virginian-Pilot that demand for the flights has declined.
Braden says the flights will be cut in March 2014.
He says Southwest also plans to resume a nonstop flight from Norfolk to Tampa, Fla., on a seasonal basis in November. The airline had discontinued this service in June.
If the Tampa flight does well, Braden says Southwest could restore it to year-round service.
