Southwest Farmington Road is back open in Aloha after a crash between a dump truck and car blocked traffic, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
The crash occurred just before 12:10 p.m. Tuesday on Farmington Road at Rosa Road. Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue reported that the crash trapped the driver of the car in his vehicle, and firefighters had to extricate him.
After the dump truck and car collided, the car crashed into a pole, the fire district said. The sheriff’s office said power lines were down, but the pole was not damaged.
The road was closed or partially blocked for more than an hour.
The incident occurred when the car, a 2005 Toyota Corolla, pulled out from a stop sign in front of the dump truck, said Sgt. Bob Ray, a sheriff's office spokesman. The Corolla's driver, a 25-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, Ray said.
He was cited on an accusation of failing to obey a traffic control device.
The dump truck driver was not injured.
