York to teach class


Real Estate I: Naples trends and recent market statistics; the best way to buy/sell real estate in today’s market; what is the true value of a home; how appraisals effect your sale. ULI to host program


Urban Land Institute-Southwest Florida will hosts ULI’s national “Building Healthy Places Initiative” at Florida Gulf Coast University from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on March 12. The program will focus on the Estero community and will be led by Ed McMahon, Fraser chair on sustainable development and environmental policy and senior staff adviser for the Healthy Places Initiative at ULI in Washington, D.C. Panelists include Don Eslick, chairman emeritus of the Estero Council of Community Leaders; Michael Greenberg, vice president of the south region for Neal Communities; Dave Kistel, vice president of facilities and support services for Lee Memorial Health System; Joe McHarris, Estero Design Review Committee; Neal Noethlich, Estero Community Planning Panel, and Stacy Revay, Planning Project Manager/Bike Ped Coordinator, Collier County Government. The meeting will be held in Room 114 of the Sugden Resort & Hospitality Management building and is open to the public. Group listing on U.K. TV show


The Glenn Bradley Group, a Naples real estate group with Coldwell Banker Previews International, showcased one of their listings on a taping of the British television show “A Place in the Sun, Winter Sun” last week, resulting in a property sale for the real estate group. The couple looking for a home was shown several of the local real estate group’s listings, one of which was featured on the program, and they are currently under contract to purchase a villa home in Ibis Cove, Naples. “A Place in the Sun,” a highly successful weekly show in its 14th year, features British couples wishing to buy a property in a sunny foreign country. This episode will air on Channel 4 in the U.K. next month. Due to restricted access, those in the United States cannot view it.

Santa Luz grand opening


Santa Luz, the gated portion of the 3,000-acre Gateway master-planned community in Fort Myers, is hosting grand opening festivities today, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Food and refreshments will be offered. The events mark the completion of a new custom heated pool and cabana with a covered outdoor picnic area, bathrooms and fitness center as well as the fourth building consisting of four additional coach homes available for purchase. Those buying a coach home between Feb. 1 and March 31, 2014 will receive $5,000 cash back at closing. New models, floor plans in Ave Maria


Pulte Homes has started construction of two new model homes and introduced five new floor plans at Hampton Village at Ave Maria at 6055 Anthem Parkway. Both model homes will open in early April. The single-story Sandpiper model is priced starting at $219,990 with two bedrooms, two baths and a flex room that can serve as an optional den or third bedroom. The Sandpiper model has 1,869 square feet of living space, with an island kitchen and a rear-loading two-car garage. The two-story Weatherford model, priced starting at $299,990, offers 3,347 square feet of indoor space with four bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, a flex room and an optional second-floor bonus room that can serve as a fifth bedroom. Hampton Village at Ave Maria now offers 11 floor plans ranging from 1,869 square feet of living space to 3,446 square feet with two, three, four and five bedrooms. Ranked No. 1


John R. Wood Properties announced that its Bonita Springs office ranked No. 1 for closed sales by volume in the Bonita Springs/Estero markets for 2013. According to the Matrix Multiple Listing Service and not including non-MLS sales through developers, the Bonita Springs Team edged out two top competitors to achieve the No. 1 spot with close to $250 million in closed sales volume. John R. Wood Properties is the oldest real estate company in Southwest Florida with 53 plus years of experience in the market. The firm has 11 offices serving areas from Marco Island to Sanibel/Captiva Islands, and employs 300 agents and staff.


Regatta model sold


LeeCorp Homes Inc. announced the Regatta manufactured home model in Phase II at Country Lakes has been sold. Country Lakes is a deeded-lot ownership 55+ manufactured home subdivision located in Fort Myers on Country Lakes Boulevard, north of Luckett Road, Exit 139 off I-75. Built by Jacobsen Homes, the Regatta is a double-wide manufactured home with 1,486 square feet, two bedrooms, two baths and a den. The Regatta was priced in the mid-$160s for the home and land. Thirty-two manufactured lots have been prepared at Country Lakes. Only seven lots remain for sale. These lots are priced starting at $25,900.
