Gun Buy Back events planned in North Miami, Southwest Miami-Dade - MiamiHerald.com

Two county commissioners are hosting Gun Buy Back events in North Miami and Southwest Miami-Dade on July 27.

Here’s the deal: Anyone may drop off a firearm, no questions asked. In exchange, they can receive gift cards from local retailers worth up to $200.

The North Miami will be hosted by Commissioner Sally Heyman at Biscayne Landings sales office at 15045 Biscayne Blvd., in partnership with Miami-Dade, North Miami and Biscayne Park police.

The South Dade regional Gun Buy Back is at 11350 SW 216 St. and will be hosted by Commissioner Dennis C. Moss.

Both events will be held that Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Free gun locks for safe gun storage will be provided for those interested.
