Starting in August, travelers will have another option to get to Dallas from Pittsburgh International Airport.
Southwest Airlines announced today that it is starting a daily nonstop flight to Dallas Love Field from the Findlay airport on Aug. 9.
It will be the second airline top offer nonstop service to the Texas city. American Airlines now offers three to four times a day to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Dallas has become a more popular destination from Pittsburgh because of the growth of the Marcellus Shale industry.
Southwest is offering introductory fares as low as $89 one way from Pittsburgh as part of the launch. Flights are available for booking at www.southwest.com.
Southwest currently flies to 12 destinations from Pittsburgh, including Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore, Houston, Las Vegas, Orlando, and Phoenix. It averages 24 flights a day from the airport.
