SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) --
Police say a 51-year-old man was shot and killed during a violent robbery in Southwest Philadelphia.
Officers found the victim just before midnight on the 1400 block of South Paxon Street.
He had been shot multiple times at point blank range in the face and torso.
Police say the gunman fired at least 17 times.
"We found what appears to be the victim's wallet that was also several feet from his body. So there is a very good possibility that robbery was the motive," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small of the Philadelphia police.
Investigators are checking surveillance cameras in the area for clues.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police.
