INDIANAPOLIS - An 18-year-old was killed in a crash on the southwest side of Indianapolis Monday evening.
The crash happened just before 8 p.m. near Kentucky Avenue and Ameriplex Parkway. Police believe 18-year-old Jeslynn Spaulding was traveling on Kentucky Avenue at a high rate of speed when she clipped the back of a second vehicle, causing her car to leave the roadway and hit a utility pole.
When firefighters arrived, the vehicle was overturned and on fire. Medics pronounced the Spaulding dead at the scene.
Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
No other injuries were reported.
