An armed home invasion in Southwest Miami-Dade has police officers looking for 4 would-be robbers.
Investigators say one man was armed with a gun, another with a machete, and a third had pepper spray. Miami-Dade police say the fourth man was not armed with anything. The group broke into a home on Southwest 173rd Terrace near Southwest 112th Avenue. They demanded drugs and money.
A 20-year-old man inside the home was pistol whipped and pepper sprayed. That man's father heard the commotion, ran out, and was then thrown to the floor. The 20-year-old's mother and 11-year-old brother were hiding in the house during the incident.
Police say the 4 attempted robbers searched the home but left empty handed. A sliding glass door on the family's home is now broken.
