HOUSTON -– Police said an officer watching for speeders on the Southwest Freeway ended up being struck in his patrol car overnight.
The crash happened near Beltway 8 around 1 a.m. Friday, according to Houston police.
Officers said an oncoming female driver was speeding when she slammed on her brakes and lost control. The woman’s vehicle hit a concrete barrier, spun around, and then smashed into the back of the police car.
Neither the officer nor the driver were injured.
Police said the driver would face two citations for the incident.
