One man was hospitalized and another was in custody Thursday night after a stabbing in southwest Santa Rosa.

Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the 800 block of Ludwig Lane just after 7 p.m. after receiving a call that a man was stabbed, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Eddie Engram.

The condition of the victim, who was stabbed in the stomach, was not yet known, Engram said. He was taken by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Mary Quinn, a neighbor, told police she saw a black pickup with a large flag in the back drive up to the house, which is near where Ludwig intersects Stony Point Road. She said a man got into the truck and drove north down Ludwig “where he did doughnuts in a field,” she said.

“Then he drove back to the house, got out and yelled, “I’m going to kill you,” she said.

Sheriff’s detectives were still interviewing witnesses and conducting an investigation late Thursday, said Sgt. Shannon McAlvain.

The suspect was detained but had not yet been arrested, he said.

Quinn said she had seen the truck in the neighborhood several times recent weeks.
