Southwest monsoon to bring rains in Northern Luzon – Pagasa

By

MANILA, Philippines – A weak southwest monsoon is affecting extreme Northern Luzon and will bring light to moderate rains there, the state weather bureau said Monday.

“Cagayan Valley and the regions of Cordillera and Ilocos, the provinces of Zambales and Bataan and the islands of Batanes, Babuyan and Calayan will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, it added.

In Metro Manila, light to moderate rains are seen until Friday, based on Pagasa’s extended weather outlook.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the Southeast to Southwest will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the east to northeast over the rest of the country.

The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.
