SAN ANTONIO -- A standoff in southwest Bexar County ended peacefully after a man gave himself up.
The incident began when deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 6000 block of Bear Canyon in southwest Bexar County.
Gregory Dean Siu, 38, shot his wife in the shoulder around 5:00 Friday morning after he attacked her while she was sleeping, officials from Bexar County Sheriff's Office said. She was taken to University Hospital and expected to be OK.
Children were in the home but a neighbor got them out of the way.
When a Bexar County Deputy responded there was some sort of exchange and the man barricaded himself inside the home. A SWAT team was called in.
Several homes were evacuated as deputies handled the situation. Residents and neighbors were asked to stay away during the event.
